Journal prompt to make your day great…

I start off everyday with opening my journal and writing…

Today is a blessing because… It helps me focus in on what I am grateful for. This can be anything, especially the little things. For me it is often “because I prioritised myself and get up when my first alarm sounded or something that made me smile.

I like to get clear on what I have coming up that day to help reduce stress and make sure I plan in enough time for everything (it helps to look at what needs to be a priority, especially for those of us who feel like we have never ending to do lists). Make it achievable. There is nothing more unmotivating than planning too much into your day and then not being able to get it all done.

I then like to ask myself…

What do I need? This could be five minutes and a cuppa half way through the day to check in with yourself on a full on day, a walk in nature, a cosy bath to look forward to at the end of the day or it could be rest.

What am I grateful for? This helps to ground you and be present. Examples are.. I am grateful for morning snuggles with my little boy, for being able to move my body in a way that I love, for taking time to paint my nails, for a coffee date with a friend, for loved ones, a safe and warm home etc. Remember these don’t have to be big things.

Don’t worry if you find this hard, it gets easier the more you do it I promise.
